Provide a Braille Transcription and Production service (text books, children’s books, manuals, etc.) for people who are blind or have low vision in California, and be an employment training opportunity for our clients who are blind to become certified Braille Transcribers and/or learn how to run the production operations.

To provide a hybrid in-person and virtual training model for mental health providers serving people with disabilities. Funds will be used to pay PB staff trainers, subsidize subject matter experts, and travel expenses.

To train a statewide cadre of responsive trainers in a Train the Trainer Model (TOT). These trainers will support service providers in improving both access and direct services to victims with disabilities. Subject matter experts and persons with disabilities will be used throughout the project and compensated.

To provide state-of-the-art training classes designed to enhance communication between care providers and adults with I/DD. Enhanced communication will increase the overall health and well-being of those we support. This project will allow Noah Homes to train hundreds of providers in CA and positively impact hundreds of individuals with I/DD

Develop materials to improve the communication skills and confidence of mental health professionals during interactions with individuals with aphasia (IWA), an acquired communication disability. This project will engage a team of stakeholders including IWA, their family members or care partners, and mental health professionals.

(1) develop the open source “Peerbots Content Marketplace,” an online portal that allows people to access and organize content for use with the Peerbots application, (2) integrate the content marketplace into the current Peerbots application and (3) author high quality content to include for free on the content marketplace.

To continue to develop/deploy new concepts that impact target population and their families by:
– documenting impact of using upright, self-initiated mobility walkers on their behaviors;
– promoting C-BiLLT a tool to assess receptive language of children who are non-speaking;
– improving design of AAC systems
– influencing research and practice

To build out its Accessibility Program ensuring that the program is led by LGBTQ+ people living with disabilities. This will include making all of our year-round programming accessible to folks living with disabilities while providing culturally-specific accessibility to different cultures such as LGBTQ+, the drag community, and BIPOC folks.

Let’s Talk AAC will include four trainings for 175 professionals serving persons with communication needs.

To create a platform for artists with disabilities to engage and remake creative technologies through the lens of accessibility.

This is a research and training development project which aims to study the prevalence of accessibility awareness and utilization on social media platforms.

To expand group speech therapy services for underserved children in Fresno.

To expand the Safety Powers Project for the Online Learning Center

To sustain and expand in-house leadership workshops with stakeholders and external learning opportunities in the Eastern Sierra region of California.
